Heather McMahan Consulting, LLC provides personalized, in-home consultations for families of young children who may be experiencing communication, attention, and other developmental challenges.

Founded by Heather McMahan, MM, MA, CCC-SLP, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the practice draws more than 35 years of experience supporting the development of children and individuals across the lifespan, including over 16 years of clinical practice in speech-language pathology and more than 13 years in Early Intervention. Heather holds a Master of Music in Jazz Performance, bringing a unique perspective on listening, rhythm, learning and human development. Her practice offers a thoughtful, family-centered approach that looks beyond isolated symptoms to understand the whole child within the context of everyday life.

Drawing on her expertise in speech-language pathology, listening, rhythm, and family-centered practice, Heather developed the Listening Environment Alignment Method™ (L.E.A.M.™). LEAM™ is a foundational developmental framework based on the principle that a child’s listening environment plays a central role in foundational development. By examining how the child, caregiver, and everyday environment interact, LEAM™ helps families create the conditions that support attention, regulation, play, communication, learning, relationships, and meaningful participation in everyday life. As both a clinician and parent, Heather understands the uncertainty families often face and provides thoughtful, practical guidance to help them move forward with greater confidence.
